Montana Youth Gender Affirming Care Resources
Gender affirming care for youth is legal and accessible in Montana.
Youth gender-affirming care is legal in Montana. In May 2025, a state judge permanently blocked enforcement of SB 99, a 2023 law that sought to ban such care, ruling it unconstitutional under Montana’s rights to privacy and equal protection.
As a result, treatments like puberty blockers and hormone therapy remain legal and available to youth. Support services, counseling, and medical resources are also accessible for youth exploring gender identity, as well as for their caregivers and medical providers.
This site is intended to provide basic resources for Montana gender diverse youth and their parents, caregivers, and clinical providers.
